Sites located over the Dublin Port Tunnel corridor or the DART Underground protected corridor require the submission of a Development Assessment to ensure that they do not adversely affect the structural integrity of the Dublin Port Tunnel or the future DART Underground tunnels. This Development Assessment must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of Policy MT22 and Appendix 6 of the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022 and the specific requirements of Transport Infrastructure Ireland or Irish Rail by a suitably qualified engineer.
We were ideally placed to carry out this Development Assessment in a straightforward and efficient manner. Our procedure for these Assessments involves:
- A site visit to become familiar with the site and identify any surface features which may affect the assessment.
- Review of all documents – scheme plans, structure loadings, ground investigation information, etc.
- Detailed geotechnical analysis to predict likely loadings imposed on the tunnel lining by the proposed development.
- Preparation of drawings and a detailed report for submission to TII or Irish Rail outlining the findings.
We have ample experience working on underground infrastructure in the Dublin area, including the preparation of Development Assessments, and are well placed to guide clients smoothly through the process. Please contact us to discuss any requirements for Development Assessments for proposed works over the Dublin Port Tunnel corridor or the DART Underground protected corridor.
